Ethnic composition
Approximately 80% of the population are Thai. The minorities living in Thailand in particular, are Chinese (about 10%) and Rouge (1%) who have already assimilated with the local population and the vast majority of Thais are considered. Furthermore, Malays (3.5%) who are largely Muslim, and thus retain their national identity. In larger cities are also found tiny community of Inds. In the north of the country are living members of various hill tribes.
Religious composition

Dominant position in Thai society is Theravada Buddhism, also known as hínajána ( "little dipper"), which is reported 94.6% of the population, 4.6% of the population, mainly Muslims in the south of the country professes Islam, 0.7% of the population are Christians.

Some holidays are floating the term with regard to religious context. If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, a day off is usually moved to the next working day, ie on Monday. In individual years, the majority of holiday dates may vary slightly.
